I have always had a passion for sports since I was a kid. The first thing I would do every morning before school or when I would wake-up on the weekends was turn on ESPN or Fox Sports and learn about what was happening in the sports world. Along with my passion for watching sports shows, I also played soccer, baseball and basketball.
I started at the University of Kentucky, but decided half-way through the first semester that I wanted a journalism program that was more challenging and diverse.
After my freshman year at the University of Kentucky, I transferred to Michigan State University. While attending Michigan State, I have worked for The State News, which has a number of alumni who work for major media companies and newspaper organizations.
During my senior year at Michigan State, I felt that my journalism degree would not be enough to get me to where I want to be because of how the media and newspaper industries are evolving so quickly. In the fall of my senior year, I declared a second major, telecommunications.
I worked for the sports department at the student radio station at Michigan State as the MSU men's and women's soccer reporter for two years. I wrote over 50 stories, produced over 30 podcasts, and produced and narrated a short documentary about a soccer player and his determination to overcome two ACL injuries to comeback and play for the team this fall.
During my last semester at Michigan State, I took over as Sports Director at MSU Impact Sports and was in charge of setting up interviews for the student reporters, handling the budget for the sports department and producing the only live sports radio show.
I recently graduated in May 2015 and I am currently covering the MSU men's and women's soccer teams for soccer4mi.net.
I am also currently taking an online Soccer Management and Scouting course online through Sports Management Worldwide.
